History
Founded in 1992, our school has a proud 27-year history of providing care and a safe learning environment for the children in our community and we love it even more every day.
Management
Ronell van der Bijl is the sole owner and manager of Meyerspark Nursery School. “Here I can live my passion for children, and aim to make a difference in the life of a child”.

Location
We are ideally situated in Watermeyer Street, Meyerspark, Pretoria near several primary schools among others Meyerspark Primary, Silverton Primary and La Montagne Primary. The school is easily accessible from the N4 highway and from Pretoria Street in Silverton. We are near churches, shopping centres and attractions for example the Pioneer Museum.
Staff, Experience and Training
Meyerspark Nursery School is a double medium school, providing for children from 2 years to Grade R. We have five educators and eight helpers. Some of the staff members have 27 years’ experience in the industry and therefore have sufficient experience and training to work with preschool children and get them ready for the “big school”. We are blessed to have no staff member who works for less than 5 years at our school since children experience more security, freedom and love with persons with whom they can identify.
Facilities
The school consists of five spacious class rooms, 43×10 square meters in size. The classes are organised according to age groups (2-3 years; 3-4 years; 4-5 years and Grade R). There are two toilet facilities with 11 small child friendly toilets and 11 child friendly washing basins.
The outdoor playing area is 2,600 square meters with several climbing apparatus, swings and a large sandpit. Transportation is provided to and from Silverton, Meyerspark, Mamelodi, Nelmapius and even as far afield as Equestria.
Registration with Authorities
We are registered with all the relevant authorities such as the Department of Social Services & Population Development, The City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, Gauteng Department of Education & Culture and the Department of Health & Welfare.
Program and Activities
We are open Mondays to Fridays from 06:15 to 17:30. Apart from our daily educational program we offer breakfast and lunch as well as two snack times daily. We are open throughout the year, also during holidays except for the last two weeks of December.
Several activities are offered including soccer, ballet, extra English classes, computer skills for beginners and swimming lessons. See our Extra Mural Activities page for more information.
We have parent visit days, provide progress reports to the parents and organise a concert and diploma ceremony at the end of the year. We plan an education visit the the school once every term (including puppets, music, animals, etc.).
The school has its own T-shirt and cap which are worn on Fridays and with visits to Primary Schools for example when we compete in athletics against other pre-schools. The cost is R200 for a set.
Safety and Security
The school is fenced with a security alarm and armed response service.
